The Beginning in Sailing
The journey begins in 1992, when NorthSailing’s founder, Christoforos Gkritzelakis, enters the world of sailing as an athlete, taking part in races and building a true connection with the sea, the wind and the technical side of the sport.
From Athlete to Sailing Coach
His love for sailing evolves into training and guidance. Christoforos Gkritzelakis becomes active as a sailing coach, supporting athletes and sharing the knowledge, discipline and values of the sport.

Nikos Zachariadis is an ISSA certified instructor and captain, with experience in practical sailing training and crew guidance at sea.
Panagiotis Vafias
Sailing Instructor
Panagiotis Vafias is NorthSailing’s Lead Instructor and Flotilla Leader. He is a sailing coach at the North Aegean Sailing Club, an ISSA certified instructor and a certified measurer of the Hellenic Sailing Federation, with an active role in training and guiding crews during flotillas.
George Gkritzelakis
Charter Department
George Gkritzelakis is NorthSailing’s Base Manager in Platanias, Pelion, responsible for base organisation, crew support and the smooth operation of charters in the area.

Eirini Chatzigeorgiou is Head of Charter Department at NorthSailing, responsible for charter organisation, client communication and coordination of the charter team, ensuring the smooth support of every yacht charter experience.

Christoforos Gkritzelakis
CEO & Founder
Christoforos Gkritzelakis founded NorthSailing in 2005. With a sailing journey that began in 1992, experience as an athlete, professional skipper, ISSA certified instructor and sailing coach, he continues to shape the company’s philosophy with knowledge, responsibility and deep respect for the sea and the sport of sailing. He is also the founder of the North Aegean Sailing Club and Director of Studies at UCaptain Academy, a skipper training school.
